this? W-Biz
Insight is the first national, online, representative research panel of women
business owners, providing actionable insight to decision makers, policy
makers, marketers, and women business owners worldwide. W-Biz Insight amplifies the voices of this
nation’s 10.4 million women business owners.
The panel
is an opportunity to make your voice heard on critical issues for women
business owners and to alter perceptions about the economic viability and
progress of women-owned enterprises. Moreover,
our research panel helps you gain peer insight and track trends through the
reports you will have full access to as a panel member.
If you are
a woman business owner over the age of 18 and own 25 percent or more of a company, large or small, then we
need your insights and opinions. Join our research panel by going to the panel
website (www.w-bizinsight.org) and filling out a short short participant profile about you and your business. It should only take about 10 minutes and at the conclusion you will be sent a
link via email confirming your registration as a panelist.
4. How often will I be asked to participate in a study? How much time will each study take? Once
registered as a panelist, you will be offered the opportunity to participate in studies for which you meet the criteria, i.e., the study requires that the
company be located in 5. What are the criteria for participation? Can
men business owners participate? All members
of the W-Biz Insight panel must be women over the age of 18 who own 25 percent or more
of a business. The business can be
located anywhere in the world and be at any revenue level. As part of
the registration process, we will ask you a few basic questions about your
business to help us categorize our panelists in ways that facilitate our
research. Information collected from you
at any point in your tenure as a panelist – either through the initial
questionnaire or through your responses to a study – is protected vigorously.
We promise to use the information you provide only in aggregate for legitimate
research purposes. Click here for our privacy policy. Men
business owners are not being invited to join the panel at this time. This criterion does not eliminate women who own 25 percent or more of a business that also has men owners.
6. Can I
be paid for participating?
7. How will the research be used? Participants
will contribute to the creation of an ongoing body of knowledge that can
respond to emerging trends and will inform programs and policies that support
all women business owners. The Center’s research on women business owners and
their enterprises has historically focused on the following areas: -Capital and financing -Business ownership over life stages -Diversity -High performing businesses (over $1M) -Decision making With this
new online research panel, the Center will strengthen its ability to provide
actionable knowledge about relevant issues for women business owners. The Center will be able to cut down on time
required for primary research in key issue areas; increase the representation in our research
of all segments of women business owners – including those with higher revenue businesses; and expand
the types of research that can be done. While the
Center is not a market research organization, occasionally surveys will have
questions from our sponsors about products and services, as well as buying
decisions. Participation in any study
is always at the discretion of the panelist and participants may opt out at any
point in the process of responding to a survey.
8. Are my specific responses going to be made
available online? No. We protect your personal information
vigorously and will never disclose to external parties any individually
identifying information about our panelists – either online or in print. We promise to use the information you provide
only in aggregate for legitimate research purposes. Click here for our privacy
policy. We also
promise not to share the list of our research panelists with sponsors or other
external parties.
9. How representative of the population of women
business owners will the panel be? As part of
the registration process, prospective panelists are asked several demographic
questions about themselves and about their business through a profiling
questionnaire. If representation in
certain categories is determined to be too low, i.e., revenue level, number of
employees, age of business owner, etc…, we will focus targeted recruiting
efforts on that category to ensure representation.
10. How can I sponsor research? The Center
for Women's Business Research is a non-profit organization and relies on
corporate sponsorships and other external funding to sustain its
efforts. We welcome new sponsors and
invite you to contact our marketing and communications project manager, 11. I have one or two questions I would like included in a study. How can I do
this? The Center
for Women's Business Research will conduct periodic omnibus surveys in which
you can include non-related or sponsor-specific questions. The cost varies based on requirements. Please contact |
